How to find a good pair of swimming goggles?

Well I have taken up swimming again, but what I need is a good pair of goggles. I've had a bad experience with goggles, in that they didn't fit me and water still got in. So how do I know if goggles fit? What can I consider to be 'good'? Are there any brands that are recommended?

  1. Find a Sports Authority or serious sport store. The goggles should fit snuggly around your face and shouldn't fog easily. The best kind, although they are expensive, is the eye prescription kind, if you wear glasses.
  2. they need to be comfortable, I really like Lane 4 and they seem to last for kids:) some of my students have had the same goggles for 2 years. go and try them on you will know when you found the right pair
  3. Aquasphere are good for adults, the Kaiman goggles are really comfortable and don't leak at all. If you are younger (14-20) then the Speedo Vanquisher goggles are good. The are more of a low profile goggle and seal really well. Kids 12 and under should go with something like the Speedo Jr Hydrospex, it is a no brainer.
  4. speedo vanquisher. they also sell them in junior's and women's. however, they have those crappy plastic straps tht break allll the time. so either get a bungee strap or be prepared to tie lots of knots.
  5. Big 5, you can do a suction test, and the ones at big 5 come with different noses
  6. get Swedish Goggles. order them online of amazon or somthing. their the best type and also the cheapest like $3 -4$
  7. Aqua Sphere makes some of the best swim goggles I have ever used. I like their seal goggles as well as their vistas. The link below goes to the ones I am talking about. http://www.love2splash.com/category/702771401/1/Swim-Goggles.htm What I like about them is that they have a soft hypoallergenic silicone skirt that conforms quite well to the face. Both the Vista and the Seal give a wide field of vision and are available with clear, tint or blue lenses. The silicone is used because it is more resistant to the elements and doesn't break down as fast as rubber goggles. The straps are easy to adjust which allows for a more personalized fit. Because of their design, the Aqua Sphere goggles fit an extremely wide range of faces
